about
Global Hermit
Global Hermit has been kicking
around as a website since about 1997, but became a touch more than one
of those ubiquitous "under construction"-branded placeholders
that take up so much of the web in the early part of this century when
I realized I wanted to write some stuff and foist it off on whoever dropped
by. Unfortunately, my regular work kept me too busy to feel like doing
a lot of writing when I got home.
Thanks to the miracle of corporate
decision-making, our company was downsized out of existence in June of
2004, and I've been a freelancer since that point. Global Hermit is now
my home base on the web, and serves as an archive of the items I've written
in the past, the work that is appearing in other magazines and websites
now, and things that will be exclusive to this site. I'll also be using
it as a digital photo album...why not?
If you need to reach me, you
can just type my first name @ the name of this domain. (Take THAT, spam
auto-harvesters.) If you have a new product you want to tell me about,
I'm always interested, but I tend to be more interested in consumer-friendly
gadgets rather than network switches and inventory management systems.
I am based in Toronto, and am often available to attend press conferences
or product launches. Drop me a line.
